Care Tips

• 1. Daily Handling: Avoid direct contact with perfumes, oils, or makeup, as these can stain or degrade leather. Clean hands prevent dirt transfer, especially for light-colored or lambskin bags. Use the included dust bag for storage when not in use to minimize exposure to dust and sunlight, which can fade colors and dry out leather.
• 2. Leather Care:
-Caviar/Lambskin: Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For caviar leather, use a damp cloth (water only) for stains. Lambskin is delicate-avoid pressure to prevent scratches.
-Aged Calfskin/Patent: Use a specialized leather conditioner sparingly. Patent leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth; dry immediately to prevent water spots.
• 3. Hardware Maintenance: Gold or ruthenium-plated hardware may tarnish over time. Wipe gently with a dry cloth after use. Avoid abrasive cleaners. If chains develop patina, CHANEL boutiques offer professional polishing services.
• 4. Fabric & Exotic Materials: Tweed or velvet bags require extra caution. Brush tweed lightly with a soft-bristle brush; avoid liquid cleaners. For exotic skins (e.g., python, lizard), professional cleaning is recommended. Never expose these materials to moisture.
